Make Excellence Your Habit

What if excellence was your habit? How would it change the life you live?  Would it change your health, would it change your wealth, would it change your overall happiness?  Of course it would!

 

To quote Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

 

How do we get there?  It starts with choices.  Each day, all day long we make choices and everything counts!  We make choices with what we eat, if we exercise or not, if we put aside any money for savings or investment.  We are either practicing actions that lead to better health, wealth and happiness or we aren’t.  We either practice being lazy, procrastinating, being irresponsible or we do the opposite.

 

A great exercise is to step back and look at the choices you are making on a day to day basis.  Ask yourself, “are these choices serving me and moving me in the direction of the things I really want in life?"  If the answer is no, then it’s time to make some better choices.  

 

Self discipline certainly comes in to play when it comes to making better choices but where does the self discipline come from?  The answer is your  ‘reason why’.  If you have a big enough reason why, you’ll have all the self discipline you need.  Determine your ‘WHY’ and revisit it daily.  Keep it in the forefront of your mind so you’ll have the energy needed to attack your goals and make the best choices throughout the day.
